Sida cordata (Burm.f.) Borss.Waalk.

This species is native to Arabian Peninsula, Socotra, Tropical & Subtropical Asia; naturalized throughout the world. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 4 species of Sida found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Annual herb ; up to 60 cm high . Stems erect to decumbent , branched , slender , yellow-green , with stellate and simple hairs . Leaves 1-5 cm long and broad , ovate to lanceolate , apex acuminate , base rounded to cordate , margins crenate to dentate petiole 1-3 cm ; stipules filiform , strigose . Inflorescences solitary , in the axils of the leaves ; pedicel 1-3 cm , stellate-hairy . Flowers pale yellow , 7-8 mmm across ; epicalyx absent ; calyx 4-5 mm , fused below , lobes acuminate , partially enclosing the capsule ; corolla ± 10 mm , obovate . Fruit capsule , 3-4 mm in diameter , depressed globose , beaked at the top ; mericarps 5 , membranous , dehiscent , 1-seeded . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 1) .
