Triumfetta sp. sensu S. A. Ghazanfar (2003)

This species is native to S Arabian Peninsula. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There is only one known species of Triumfetta occurs in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Slender annual herb ; up to 60 cm high . Stems erect , branched , often woody at the base , succulent , reddish or green , stellate-hairy . Leaves alternate , 1 . 5-7 x 0 . 6-7 cm , simple , petiolate , broadly elliptic to ovate broadly ovate to rhomboid , with 3 obscure lobes , margin serrate to dentate , sparsely hairy above , 3-5-veined ; petiole 0 . 7–5 . 5 cm long ; stipules narrowly triangular , up to 7 mm long , dark brown , hairy . Inflorescences in clusters in the leaf axils . Flowers pale yellow to reddish , 3 mm wide ; sepals 5 , free , ± 2 mm , lyrate , sparsely to densely pubescent ; petals 5 , free , spoon-shaped ; stamens 5-10 ; ovary superior , 2–celled , sparsely hairy . Fruit capsule , 5-7 mm , ovoid , 2-locular , indehiscent , with hooked spines , densely white-woolly , 2–4-seeded . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 1) .
