Azadirachta indica A.Juss.

This species is native to Assam, and Indo-China; introduced and cultivated elsewhere. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There is only one known species of Azadirachta occurs in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

An evergreen , fast-growing deciduous tree , up to 15 m tall with rounded , spreading crown and brown , rough , fissured bark . Leaves opposite , pinnate , 20–40 cm long ; leaflets 8–18 pairs , ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate , strongly falcate , long-acuminate at the apex , very asymmetric at the base , with coarsely serrate margin , glabrous . Inflorescences an axillary panicle up to 35 cm long . Flowers 250 to 300 , bisexual , white , fragrant . Fruit drupe , ellipsoid , yellow , glabrous . Seeds one , rarely two , or three , elongated .
