Ficus religiosa L.

This species is native to Indian subcontinent and Indochina; introduced and naturalised elsewhere. (Ref. https://en.wikipedia.org). There are 9 known species of Ficus found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Semi-evergreen   tree ; up to 30 m tall . Stems pale , glabrous . Leaves 10–17 x 8–12 cm , broadly ovate to ovate-orbiculate , smooth , thinly leathery , base rounded to truncate , margins entire , occasionally wavy , apex abruptly long-caudate or long-acuminate , tip to 2 . 5-9 cm , glaucous , glabrous ; petiole slender , 3 . 5-13 cm ; stipules ovate , to 5 cm . Fruit 1–1 . 5 cm in diameter , green ripening to purple . (Ref . http://www . efloras . org) .
