Leaves 10–20 x 6–10 cm , petiolate , leathery , broadly ovate , deeply cordiform at the base and shortly acuminate on top , obtusely dentate along the edge , rough on upper surfaces and pubescent underneath . Inflorescences on short , green , catkins , appear in the axils of the leaves , pendulous . Flowers small , unattractive .
