Annual herb ; 15 cm high , root up to 180 mm long . Stems prostrate , diffused or procumbent branches , densely grey-green tomentose . Leaves alternate , 5-20 x 3-12 mm , pinnately lobed , margins sinuate ; stipules minute ; petiole 3-8 mm long , densely hairy . Inflorescences in the axils of leaves ; pedicels 3-6 mm long in fruit . Flowers white or pink ; sepals 5 , triangular-ovate , acute , 2 . 5-3 mm ; petals 5 , white , cream or pink , ± 1 mm , obovate ; stamens 10 , c . 2 mm long . Fruit 10-20 mm in diameter , flattened , oricular , dry and woody , spiny above , smooth below , indehiscent , retained as a collar around the base of the new plant ; spines 2-10 mm long . Seeds curved about 2 . 5 x 1 . 5 mm in size , non endospermic , horn like with tapering distal end . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 2) .
