Erect annual or perennial parasitic herb ; up to 10-40 cm high . Stems erect , simple , slender , pinkish , ± glandular-pubescent . Leaves absent . Inflorescences very lax , flowers spaced alternately on the stem ; bracts lanceolate . Flowers funnel shaped ; calyx segments divided into two bifid lateral segments with acuminate teeth , ± glandular-pubescent ; corolla ± campanulate , ± 12 mm , curved , the tube white to cream , margins of lobes prominently erose-denticulate ; stamens 4 , glabrous above , ± hairy below ; stigma lobes pink or white .
