Stems erect to ascending or prostrate , unbranched , thin , delicate , glabrous throughout . Leaves alternate , 7-11 x 7-17 mm , pale green , translucent , broadly ovate to suborbicular or transversely ovate , rounded or acute tip , cordate base , entire margins ; petiole 3-7 mm . Inflorescences on somewhat fleshy spikes , either axillary or terminal ; spikes solitary , leaf-opposed . Flowers minute ; perianth absent ; stamens 2 ; ovary single . Fruit drupe , ± 0 . 5 mm in diameter , ovoid , embedded in spikes , one-seeded . Seeds not seen . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 1) .
