Nanorrhinum hastatum (R.Br. ex Benth.) Ghebr.

This species is native to NE Tropical Africa and Arabian Peninsula. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 5 species of Nanorrhinum found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Annual herb ; up to 60 cm high . Stems simple or branched at base , with slender , erect , prostrate or decumbent and trailing branches , hanging against cliffs or walls , glabrous or glandular to sparsely pubescent . Leaves basal and cauline ; basal leaves few , falling soon , 10 × 6 mm , ovate to ovate-lanceolate ; cauline leaves 7–22 × 2–4 mm , decreasing in size upwards , lanceolate to linear-lanceolate , entire , acute , hastate to sagittate or the upper with attenuate base , glabrous to ± pubescent ; petioles 1–3 mm , slender . Inflorescences solitary , axillary , throughout the length of the stems ; pedicels 20–30 mm , filiform , sometimes reddish , glabrous . Flowers yellow ; calyx somewhat campanulate , deeply 5-lobed , lobes 3–4 mm , lanceolate with narrow scarious margins , glabrous ; corolla 2-lipped extending at the base into a spur , yellow , ± 3 . 5 mm long including the spur ; palate lanate ; spur shorter than rest of the corolla ; stamens 4 , . filaments sparsely villous .
