Nanorrhinum ramosissimum (Wall.) Betsche

This species is native to NE. Tropical Africa to NE Kenya, Arabian Peninsula, Iran, eastwards to Myanmar. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 5 species of Nanorrhinum found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Much-branched perennial herb ; up to 60 cm high . Stems branched with slender , prostrate or decumbent branches , hanging against cliffs or walls , glabrous or glandular to sparsely pubescent . Leaves usually alternate ; basal leaves 5–7 × 2–4 mm , ovate to oblong-ovate to elliptic , usually entire ; upper leaves 4–10 × 2–5 mm ovate , acute to obtuse , entire , usually hastate , truncate or cordate at the base , usually decreasing in size along the stems , well spaced , pubescent ; petioles 1–6 mm long , patent . Flowers axillary ; pedicels filiform , much longer than most of the leaves , < 20 mm . Flowers pale yellow ; calyx deeply 5-lobed , lobes 3–5 mm , lanceolate with narrow scarious margins , glabrous ; corolla 2-lipped extending at the base into a long spur , pale yellow , violet on the inside of the upper lip and near the base of the lower lip , 3 . 5–6 mm long including the spur ; palate pubescent to glabrous ; spur slender , longer than the corolla ...
