Veronica anagalloides Guss. subsp. anagalloides

This species is native to Europe, extending to SW Siberia and China, NW Africa, and Arabian Peninsula. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 2 species of Veronica found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Annual herb ; up to 25 cm high . Stems erect , ± branched , glabrous and very sparsely glandular . Leaves opposite , sessile , 20–50 × 8–16 mm , ovate-elliptic , acute , margins serrulate . Inflorescences in axillary racemes ; bracts 5–6 mm , lanceolate ; pedicels ± 3 mm elongating to ±6 mm in fruit , very sparsely glandular . Flowers white to blue ; calyx campanulate , 2–3 mm , lobes 1 mm , triangular , glabrous ; corolla white to blue , 3–5 mm across , slightly longer than the calyx . Fruit capsule ± 3 mm , globose , glabrous . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
