Leaves alternate , 15-25(-40) x 2-4 mm , grey-green , linear to occasionally linear-obovate , apex acute , sometimes with a small mucro , base tapering into a very short petiol , margin entire , pubescent . Inflorescences in elongate terminal racemes ; pedicel 2-3 mm ; bracts and bracteoles deciduous . Flowers purple or pinkish ; sepals persistent , the outer 3 sepals 3-3 . 5 mm , green with white-scarious margin ; inner 2 sepals ± 5 x ± 4 mm , broadly obovate to elliptic , greenish-yellow with dark purple-brown veins , glabrous ; petals deep purple , crest of the keel pink-purple .
