Lysimachia arvensis var. caerulea (L.) Turland & Bergmeier

This variety is native to Europe, Macaronesia, extending to Africa. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 3 species of Lysimachia occurs in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Small annual herb ; up to 30 cm high , sometimes spreading or climbing . Stems erect to ascending , sometimes spreading or climbing , branched , slender , smooth . Leaves opposite , sometimes whorled , bright green , soft , sessile , ovate to ovate-oblong , entire margins , gland-dotted , three parallel veins . Inflorescences solitary , axillary , on slender pedicels . Flowers dark blue with a red centre ; sepals 5 , lanceolate ; petals 5 , obovate , margin with glandular hairs . Fruit capsule , round , bending down on a thin stalk . Seeds numerous , tiny , angular , elliptic . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 1) .
