Leaves forming a basal rosette , obovate , apex obtuse , margin entire , glabrous ; basal leaves alternate , fleshy , spathulate , tapering at the base into a petiole . Inflorescences solitary , in axillary and terminal racemes . Flowers white , small ; calyx cup–shaped ; sepals c . 1 . 5 mm , 5-lobbed , lobes obtuse ; petals broadly tubular , 5-lobed above ; stamens 5 , inserted at the base of the corolla–tube ; staminodes 5 , subulate , inserted in the corolla–tube between the lobes .
