Erect annual herb ; up to 35 cm , glabrous or sparsely pilose . Stems erect to ascending , slender , branched . Leaves opposite , arising from the base of the stem , overall round with three lobes , deeply serrated margins , cordate or truncate at the base , petiolate , on long stalks . Inflorescences solitary , on long stalks . Flowers yellow ; sepals 5 , reflexed ; petals 5 , free , glossy . Fruit achene , bright green with a long beak , in clusters on a stalk . (Ref .
