A small evergreen tree , up to 6 m tall with few thorns and almost unarmed branches . Stems glabrous . Leaves subglobose to oblong or short-elliptic , sometimes faintly ribbed ; base evenly rounded , apex commonly rounded with serrated or bluntly toothed margins and nearly wingles petioles ; thorns absent or not persistent . Inflorescences single or in clusters , axillary . Flowers slightly fragrant , white . Fruit oval , obovate or oblong , usually rounded at the base with a smooth peel , pale orange-yellow when ripe and sweet pulp . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 2) .
