Perennial strongly aromatic herb ; up to 60cm . Stems erect , ften woody at base , densely foliose . Leaves alternate , compound , each divided into several segments which are subdivided into smaller leaflets . Flowers a cluster of flowers , each with four or five bright yellow petals with rolled , fringed edges . Fruit a textured capsule , light brown when mature , divided into rounded pointed lobes . Seeds many .

The plant has been used in traditional medicine to cure rheumatism, colic, snake bites, headache and wounds. (Ref. Flora of Oman, vol. 1). In Eastern Hajar Mountains: The plant is pounded with little lime and used to treat colic. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden). This species has been used as an herbal remedy to cure colics, snakebites, headache and wounds. (Ref. Photographic field guide to the plants of the Western Hajar Mountains).
