Pleasantly aromatic , annual or perennial herb ; up to 30cm . Stems branching from the base , ascending , glabrous , covered with minute pale yellow glands immersed in the surface tissue . Leaves alternate , grey-green , often purple-tinged , linear-elliptic to linear-obovate , glabrous , minutely glandular , apex acute to obtuse , base attenuate , margin entire to minutely crenate-serrate . Flowers in lax , few-flowered , terminal cymes ; petals 4 , purplish-pink . Fruit capsule , densely glandular , green-tinged purple at first , becoming whitish , lobed half-way with narrow sinus , many-seeded .

It has no significant medicinal uses (except in as much as all sweet smells in themselves were held to be endowed with beneficial medicinal and preventative properties), although it is said to be a good fattening fodder for goats. The flowering parts or scented leaves of many of the small and sweet-smelling Plants of Dhofar are gathered and rubbed between the palms and over the body as a perfume and deodorant. (Ref.
