Leaves alternate , 8-13 x 1-3 cm , pale green , linear-lanceolate , glabrous , apex acute , base shortly cuneate , margin shallowly serrate , patiolate . Inflorescences in catkins , 2-5 cm long . Flowers perianth absent ; male flowers: stamens 4-5 ; filaments free , villous at the base ; anthers pale yellow ; female flowers: ovary stipitate , glabrous ; stigma 2-lobed .
