Biennial herb ; up to 2 . 5m tall . Stems erect , branched , densely white tomentose with stellate hairs . Basal leaves forming a rosette , cauline alternate , grey-green , large , oblong to obovate to oblong-ovate , margins irregularly large dentate to entire , apex obtuse , base cuneate ; cauline leaves sessile , ovate , cordate . Flowers in 2–5-flowered axillary clusters , yellow . Fruit capsule longer than the calyx , stellate tomentose .
