Small delicate annual herb ; up to 10 cm high . Stems erect to ascending , few , branched , tufted , pubescent with long or short adpressed hairs , with or without glandular hairs . Leaves alternate , grey-green , elliptical to lanceolate , acute tip to apiculate , base tapering into a slender petiole , with a distinct stalk . Inflorescences solitary , in the leaf axils , reflexed . Flowers purple-blue to mauve ; sepals ovate-lanceolate , pubescent ; petals pale pink to white with pink edges , lower petal white with purple veins , unequal . Fruit round capsule , elliptic-oblong , light brown , densely pubescent or glabrous , opening by 3 valves . Seeds numerous , brown , smooth . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 1) .
