Zygophyllum hamiense Schweinf.

This species is native to N & NE Somalia, extending to Arabian Peninsula and S Iran. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 10 species of Zygophyllum found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Perennial , grey-green , succulent shrub or subshrub ; up to 50 cm high , spreading , young parts white tomentose . Stems branching profusely , pubescent . Leaves 2-foliolate , paripinnate , sometimes also 1-foliolate ; leaflets 5-10 mm , ± terete , succulent , pubescent to glabrous ; stipules membranous ; petiole 4-5 mm . Inflorescences solitary , in the axils of leaves ; pedicel ± 3 mm . Flowers white , bisexual ; sepals 5-5 . 5 mm , triangular , densely pubescent ; petals oblong to obovate , about as long as the sepals ; stamens with a scale-like appendage at the base . Fruit capsule , 7-10 mm , oblong , truncate at apex , obscurely 5-angled , septicidally dehiscent . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 2) .
